15hh
gelding
white blaze, and 3 sock( no his name will NOT be socks)
What should i name a bay welsh cob?
Try something more authentic, especially if he's a welsh cob.
Something Welsh should definitely be considered, or even Gaelic, though I think I know of a friend that would argue that point.
Here are some suggestions:
Dylan
Gawain (had a friend who named a horse this)
Iain (personal fav)
Merlyn
Reply:good names are fancy and Authentic
from a breeder they usually have the breeder's name to it. If not make a fancy name or authentic name. Like Lord____ or sir______. Something like sir Henry. Report Abuse
Reply:My 5 year old has a 9 year old Welsh Pony and he named him Cookie Monster
Reply:What is his lineage, I always like going back to family names. My horse is "My Prinz" bc his great grandsire was "My King," that whole family has a lot ie "My Sharona", " My Andrew" etc. If possible, I'd find a name, or phrase from his lineage and use it again. What is his personality? Most horses I know scream a name at you sort of. Ex. My school gelding is named "Lord of the Isles" but he looks like a bull being fattened up for market, plus he sort of lumbers about, what's he called "Bull." Maybe Hot Shot, I like that name, randomly.
Reply:Butter Scotch
Sugar
Blaze
Hollywood
Reply:He sounds lovely! I always think Welsh Cobs suit human names as they are so gorgeous and expressive, I know a Joe, a Henry and a Jack. Another great name for a Welsh Cob is Troy, especially if you plan to hog him. Or you could go down the "history" route - take part of both his parents names.
Otherwise, is there an event that co-incides with his birth or arrival? we named a new colt "storm" last Thursday as that is when he was born! (my husband wanted "greased lightning!" Try making a short list and go and call them out - let him pick his own!
Whatever you decide, good luck with him.
