In the 1950s Leeds Utd had a Welsh (I think) black player. Do you know his name please?
Leeds United had a South African player by the name of Albert Johanneson who joined Leeds United in 1961.He was born in Johannesburg on the 13th March 1940 and died in September 1995.


Are you thinking of the great John Charles who played for Leeds in the 1950's.He was born in Swansea and nicknamed "The Gentle Giant." He was dark skinned.
Reply:he wasn't welsh. he was s african and his name was albert johansen (not sure of the spelling).
