Why cant English people pronounce Welsh names/place names properly?

Pure ignorance!

Cymru am byth!

Why cant English people pronounce Welsh names/place names properly?
It is hard for anyone from another country to pronounce another countries words...not just English and the Welsh...each has their own sounds that they are not use to using in every day language and the accents put on words may be very different. I am from the Southern USA and I go to Greece every year to visit. Over there it is very difficult for me to say the words with a "R" in them for we in the south are not use to rolling our "Rs" like they do.

But you know what? They are just happy that I try to learn their language...maybe you should learn something from them?
Reply:Because Welsh is impossible to pronounce. It makes Kikuyu seem like baby talk.
Reply:Hon, once I master at least two languages spoken by significant numbers of people, and get through the other items on my "to do" list, I'll work on it.
Reply:I know Wales is totally boring but please stop asking the same question try very hard to get your two Welsh brain cells to connect and think of another more interesting one, or just shut up. Capice???
Reply:because we do not speak the language or see the need to learn. it is not spoken by enough people to make it necessary to learn it.

too many other issues and priorities in the world to think about that.
Reply:didn't know wales had parrots or did you just forget you asked this like 20 times?

whats the matter? are you bored? is your girlfriend away been sheared?
Reply:Ok
Reply:Yey 2 points
