Can anyone suggest pretty welsh names for a girl?

And since I'm sure some have been mentioned, a few of my LEAST favorite options would be the commonly-confused or misspelled sort. For example ...





* Gwendolyn - the literal root here would be the gwen + dolen, not LYN, elements LOL


* Bronwyn - ditto the above. This one strikes me as particularly ignorant, since the substituted -wyn ending seems an attempt to indicate a masculine form (meaning those using it obviously aren't familiar with the name or its roots)


* Charis/Caris - Greek names, not related to Welsh Carys


* Teagan and Morrigan - both separate Irish names, not the same as Welsh Tegan and Morgan

I have also heard Gwen, Rhiannon, Rhian, Anwen, Bronwen, Cerys, Ciara (said Key-a-ra), Catriona (same as Katrina).

Also Angharad Rees was very beautiful in Poldark, so she might take after her if you use that name - here's hoping.
