Welsh names for a beautiful baby girl?
i became a grandmother today for the first time can anyone suggest any welsh names for a beautiful baby girl
Welsh names for a beautiful baby girl?
Congrats!
I'm due 8 December.
I'm Welsh and we toyed with some Welsh names for our little one (we're having a boy so the girl's name have had to go out of the window)
But the two I really liked were Catrin and Angharad (as they are not as popular as some of the others so a bit more unique).
We were going to call our baby Rose Catrin Angharad if it was a girl.
Bronwen is nice too.
I prefer the more unusual Welsh names that aren't used so much, as you get real "gluts" of certain names down here that just about EVERYONE uses - Ffion, Rhian, Seren and Carys are very popular right now, just about every other baby girl born around here is given one of those names!
As it is, we're going to call our little boy Arthur David William (couldn't decide on a Welsh boys' name but Arthur is Celtic I s'pose. . . Baby's half English (my BF) anyway!)
Reply:Cerridwen? Rhiannon? I'm not too familiar with Welsh names, but these are lovely ones. Hope that helps.
